Walking In Finland: From Old Wood Vallila To The Brand New Kalasatama In Helsinki (Nov 2021)

A narrated 4K morning walk from an older district of Helsinki known for its wooden houses, Puu-Vallila, to a brand new area known for some of the tallest buildings in the city, Kalasatama ("fish harbour"). The walk starts in Puu-Vallila's lovely streets lined with colourful wooden houses and continues to Vallila's library and from Mäkelänkatu through to Hämeenkatu and across to the fairly new residential areas around Allotria park and Hermanni park. The Helsinki prison is also located right by here. I make my way through the Teurastamo restaurant area to Suvilahti with a former power plant turned into an event hub. From there I take a path to Kalasatama with its new shopping centre Redi and tall buildings built around it called Majakka or lighthouse, the tallest residential building in Finland at 134 meters. This narrated walk is 4K at 60 FPS and was recorded with DJI Pocket 2 on 11th November 2021. If you would like to join me for future walks, subscribe to know when new videos are published. Feel free to suggest places to visit and thank you so much for joining me for my daily walks, right now around Finland (and usually around Singapore). :) 00:00 Puu-Vallila (Vallila wooden house district) 01:09 Map 01:23 Vallila 10:42 Vallila library 12:23 Hämeenkatu 15:29 Allotria and Hermanni parks and residential areas 23:35 Teurastamo restaurant area 28:40 Towards Redi shopping centre 34:46 Suvilahti event hub (old power plant) 42:09 Kalasatama
