We recently noticed a wobble in the gearbox while steaming which can only be from a misaligned Prop/Gearbox coupling. This is a very bad thing to find as if left it will destroy the bearings inside our new gearbox and the bearings in the propeller shaft and possibly the shaft itself. So we needed to jump on this as soon as we could. This is a longer episode and it goes into the detail of fault finding to figure out whats happened and also what it takes to get really tight alignment on a boats drivetrain.
