Preventing Fruit Borers From Attacking Jackfruit | Langka Farming in the Philippines
Preventing Fruit Borers From Attacking Jackfruit There are two ways to prevent fruit boring insects from damaging the fruits of your EVIARC Sweet. There is the organic way from setting up insect traps and "smoking" the trees or concocting insect-repellants by using Lemongrass, Citronella and Siling Labuyo extracts. The fruits could also be protected by wrapping these with used plastic bags or sack. The in-organic way is by spraying the trees with insecticides mixed with fungicides or wrapping these with the chemically treated Blue Bags used in banana farms. To prevent fruit borers from multiplying, fruits which had been damaged by the borers should be buried or burned.
