Catching an iconic Japanese species in Kanazawa
With just a few hours and some ultralight lure gear I managed to catch the iconic Japanese black bream, known as chinu or kurodai, in Kanazawa city. I headed to the lesser-known and slightly off Japan's heavily-beaten tourist track city of Kanazawa on a work trip, but getting up early I managed to squeeze in a few hours' fishing on the Ono river estuary. Follow me for a laid-back fishing session amongst idyllic semi-urban settings, and stick around for some Japan travel and fishing advice.
