Ut Nissar Hussain Khan (1909-1993), one of the greatest vocalists of Rampur Sahaswan Gharana sings Raga Khem Kalyan in this 1960 recording. Tabla - Pt Prem Ballabh, Sarangi - Ut Shakur Khan, Vocal Support - Ut Hafeez Ahmed Khan/Ut Sarfaraz Hussain Khan. This post is in memory of Tawfiq (who passed away in April 2019), one of the greatest music bloggers of our time, who gave as much to admirers of traditional music as the maestros themselves. May his soul rest in peace and now that he is in a higher place, I’m sure he’ll know how deeply his work is admired. This LP was supposed to reach audiences through his blog, but due to his untimely demise, it probably won’t be shared there. Instead, I’m posting it on this channel as a tribute to him.
