THE GODFATHER is massively overrated. Peter Griffin was right, it does insist on itself. Rob Ager

Bad plot logistics, ridiculous physicality in the assassination scenes, lack of humour, boringly long, dumb character motivations. The Godfather has enough of these elements that I've never found the film particularly enjoyable to watch nor intellectually credible. And yet, film critics in 1972 persuaded the world they were looking at a masterpiece. In this video I break down the many flaws of the film - it's about time somebody did it. Peter Griffin in Family Guy was right. The film does insist upon itself. #thegodfather #familyguy #overrated WEBSITE: https://collativelearning.com PATREON   / robager   FACEBOOK:   / robagerpublic   TWITTER: https://twitter.com/RobAger?ref_src=t... 00:00 Intro / context 03:58 Plot stupidity: Horse's head 10:28 Logistical writing: better examples 15:43 Deleted scene shenanigans 17:16 Death of Sonny 20:43 Restaurant assassination 22:49 Vito survives 5 bullets 23:28 Carlo's death 25:06 Character assassinations 27:54 Acting 30:07 Not so original 32:58 Protagonist journey 38:28 Not so subtle 39:23 Lack of humour / satire 41:36 The ego factor 42:49 Coppola's motive 45:04 Reasons for overrating? 47:48 Final thoughts
