Loke The piece tells a gentle, evocative story of time travel through Holyrood in Edinburgh, where past and present intertwine. The narrative drifts across the centuries, capturing the area’s quiet beauty, rich history, and enduring spirit, as if one were wandering its streets and landscapes on a dreamlike journey through time. Quartet and amplifier on G major. – Craig Morrison The chord G major, arranged in line with the harmonic series, is explored through space, spectra and score. Solstice Sunrise – Nadine Thompson This piece imagines sunrise on the longest day, viewed from a high place. The darkness is broken by shifting shafts of light; as the sun lifts above the horizon, a voice is raised in a wordless hymn of joy that transcends language. Danse Les Coquelicots – Emilia Kibble Something vicious this way comes. Death dancing through the streets, prince, priest and pauper hand in hand. Leaping through coughs and sneezes, waltzing on rats and fleas, each new dancer bones rattling to the beat of a dying heart. Atishoo! Atishoo! They all fall down in the end, their dance coming to rest under a field of poppies. Invocation to Medusa – Muse en Lystrala A piece in honour and praise of the divinity Medusa, revenge, and the sacredness and impact of the rage and power wielded by women and femmes. An Advocate of Dandelion – Kye Perry An Advocate Of Dandelion is a piece exploring the idea of applying the dense, close harmony often found in piano playing onto instruments typically used for single note lines. Using 5 different voices as one unified harmonic platform much in the way the piano is with an added level of detail in terms of dynamics, interlocking counterpoint and cross rhythms. Andean Flight – Jilly Mathews Andean Flight. An imaginary journey through Andean legends of condors and Thunderbirds. The Dancing Spider – Ailsa Thompson This piece follows two little spiders creating webs. The larger spider is nervous creating a rudimentary web, while the smaller spider creates an intricate one. The piece aims to show the beauty of both creations, one is practical and the other beautiful. At the end, it is shown the spiders are stronger together, as their webs join. Bosnian Fiddler Op. 24a No. 3 – Faruk Mehić The music of Bosnian guslar comes alive here through the quoting of folk melodies, traditional musical forms, and the use of various compositional techniques. This fusion of tradition and modern expression is meant to lead you into a state of ecstasy. Enjoy the listening experience! Musicians Luis Flores Carrubio – Flute.
