2026.03.20 The Extracorporeal Hour

This session of The Extracorporeal Hour meeting focused on sharing experiences and challenges in extracorporeal therapies, with participants discussing specific cases and treatment approaches. Two cases were presented for discussion. 1) a one-year-old cat treated for lily toxicity since February 14th, including her 16th dialysis treatment using the Carpe Diem machine, management of fluid overload and hyperkalemia through diet modification, and challenges with catheter patency requiring TPA treatment. 2) case of a hypoxic brain-injured foal treated with hemoperfusion using the Vet Rescue platform, describing the clinical improvements observed after two treatments and the ongoing challenges in determining appropriate anticoagulation strategies for equine patients.
