[Chongqing, China] A Hidden Gem Village | Xinhe Village and Its Tranquil Rural Life

In this video, I visit Xinhe Village in Tiaodeng Town, Dadukou District, Chongqing, China. This small village is known locally as the “Homeland of Freedom” and has been developed as a model of Bayu-style rural life. Surrounded by the Zhongliang Mountain range, Xinhe Village was once affected by mining and ecological damage. In recent years, however, the area has been restored and transformed into a clean, peaceful, and beautiful countryside community. Walking through the village, I saw tidy rural houses, small gardens, vegetable fields, pepper plantations, clear streams, stone paths, fruit trees, and villagers working in the fields. The village also has a demonstration area of beautiful Bashu-style courtyards, where the homes are clean and spacious, surrounded by fresh air, mountains, and water. For people living in busy cities, this kind of quiet rural environment feels especially attractive. It is not a famous tourist destination, but it shows another side of Chongqing — a slower, simpler, and more peaceful way of life.
