The party is a great success until Astrid kisses Hiccup, causing Megamind to overreact. In his outburst, he confesses that he tricked Astrid with the fake village. Things get even worse when Hiccup's human identity is exposed. Despite knowing who he really is, Astrid is undeterred and wants to be with him. Hiccup feigns disinterest in her and rejects her out of respect for her father and leaves.
