The SOLO button sends the channel to the engineer's monitoring outputs (CONTROL ROOM OUT) as well as to the headphones (PHONES), so the engineer can listen to the channel in isolation and adjust its level. SOLO has two modes: PFL and AFL. PFL (Pre-Fader Listening) takes the signal and delivers it to the engineer before passing through the fader and PAN controls. Therefore, it is very useful for adjusting the level of each source, as its level only changes when increasing or decreasing the gain (GAIN), as shown in the level indicator. The source gain is adjusted with the PFL of its channel activated, and this action is performed channel by channel, i.e., one at a time. However, AFL (After Fader Listening) takes the signal and delivers it to the engineer after it passes through the fader and PAN controls.
