Today we're heading to the town of Gorokhovets in the Vladimir region. It's about 360 km from Moscow. The town has plenty to offer—churches and monasteries, stone and log merchant houses... It's said that Gorokhovets has more preserved 17th-century stone merchant chambers than any other city in Russia, with the possible exception of Moscow. There are seven of them. These houses are considered to be the town's main treasure. And here's the surprising thing: Gorokhovets on the Klyazma River was once a town of shipbuilders. It even set records in shipbuilding!
