Medical Records Demanded in Beauty Queen Cheerleader’s Dead Baby Case

Prosecutors are escalating their case against former D-1 cheerleader Laken Snelling, accused of giving birth to a baby and hiding his body in her apartment closet, by issuing a new subpoena for a year’s worth of her medical records. While she currently faces charges including abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and concealing a birth, and has pleaded not guilty, new evidence, including conflicting statements and digital records, could open the door to more serious charges. Snelling is now on electronic home monitoring as she awaits a possible grand jury indictment that could determine whether charges like manslaughter or murder are filed.
