2027 Porsche 911 GT4 R Revealed! The Cayman Era Is Over

Porsche has officially revealed the all-new 2027 Porsche 911 GT4 R, replacing the Cayman-based GT4 race car with a brand-new 911 platform for the first time. Featuring a 512 horsepower naturally aspirated boxer engine and race-proven technology, this could become one of Porsche's most important customer race cars ever. The new Porsche 911 GT4 R shares its technical foundation with the Porsche 911 Cup race car while introducing several GT4-specific upgrades. Drivers receive a 4.0-liter 6-cylinder boxer engine, a 6-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters, adjustable aerodynamics, race-tuned suspension, advanced telemetry, and a modern 10.3-inch driver display. Porsche designed the new GT4 R to give racers an easier transition from one-make competition into GT4 championships. The shared platform allows teams to benefit from familiar engineering while competing in the International Motor Sports Association Michelin Pilot Challenge and Sports Car Racing Organization Pirelli GT4 America. In this video, we take a detailed look at the new 2027 Porsche 911 GT4 R, its performance, engineering, racing technology, pricing, and why Porsche decided to replace the successful Cayman GT4 race car with the legendary 911.
