Al-Anon Speaker Velta S. – “Its Okay to Love an Alcoholic” Great Primary Purpose Talk for Newcomers!
This Al-Anon speaker Velta S. has a great message for newcomers, by hoping she never gets too spiritual to forget the primary purpose, and believing it’s okay to love an Alcoholic. She explains that if you haven’t worked the steps and are struggling alone, then you don’t have to. She also points out that if someone else’s drinking is driving you crazy, then Al-Anon has a solution for you! Velta fell in love with a man who could make her laugh, had a baby face, and was 7 years sober in Alcoholics Anonymous. When she went to her first Al-Anon meeting she likened the experience to the television show "Cheers", where you’re welcomed, cared about, and everybody knows your name. Enjoy!
