This week, we're heading to the spots of Tarifa, the European capital of windsurfing, kitesurfing, and wingfoiling, and we're led by the Goya Quatro and KT teams! A meeting point of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean, Tarifa benefits from the Venturi effect of the Strait of Gibraltar. It's also a true paradise for windsurfing and wingfoiling. The continuous alternation of the Levante (east wind) and the Poniente (west wind) has made it a European capital of board sports such as windsurfing, wingfoiling, and kitesurfing. The Goya, Quatro, and KT brands didn't set up their European headquarters in Tarifa by accident. I would say that the best times are still spring and fall for the best balance between temperatures, wind, crowds in the city and at the spots, and accommodation prices. Big party animals will love summer even more, when it's very, very lively there! Getting there: Car: It's far, but you can bring plenty of gear to be prepared for any eventuality. Plane: 2.5 hours from Paris. Nearest airports: Malaga (2 hours drive) and Seville (2.5 hours drive) Direct Ryanair flights from several provincial airports (Marseille, etc.) Car rental: example of value for money: Gold Car: https://www.goldcar.es/fr/ Accommodation: Rentals: Check Booking.com and Airbnb. Avoid July/August for good deals. Old town area: good for going out at night, but difficult to park and store. Area between the center and the shopping area at the entrance to Tarifa. There are many good deals on apartments with garages and all the necessities nearby (supermarket, pharmacy, bar, shops, etc.). Clearly quieter at night than the center. There's almost no need to drive to get around. -Outside Tarifa: La Peña/Paloma/Fascinas El Cuartón, ideal for renting houses with gardens, swimming pools, 4-star hotels, etc. You'll need a car to get to the city and explore the area.
