While most people are still debating when L4 selfdriving vehicles on public roads will be able to operate without safety drivers, a group of miningfocused engineers has already deployed over 2,500 autonomous mining trucks in the Gobi Desert of Xinjiang, openpit mines in Inner Mongolia, and other demanding environments. These vehicles now operate commercially 24/7 in all weather conditions. Last year, the company accounted for 55.5% of China's autonomous driving solutions market for mining. Five years ago, NIO Capital led EACON's Series A round and has since participated in subsequent rounds.
