Motorhome Mods : Motorhome/Campervan DIY Solar Upgrade : Part 1

Well, you may know that we've been considering our solar options for the motorhome as this 2021 Mobilvetta K-Yacht 79 was supplied with a single 100w Vechline Solar Panel together with a Vechline PWM solar controller. We've never really seen it functioning correctly since we bought the van from new! We wanted to use the European sun more often and include an inverter in our upgrade project to get us off grid more often throughout our European travels. There was also plenty of room on the roof for additional panels so we've jumped in to a DIY solar upgrade after educating ourselves from reading and good old You Tube channels that specialise in walking you through the work required. Having had a couple of quotes that were 4 to 5k we decided that was also a very good reason to try and achieve the upgrade ourselves considering the parts have been around £800 for everything !!
