I Had To Replace The Bath… Because Of A Shower Screen!

I’ve got caught up to a customer’s house because their Bath shower panel has fallen off the wall and ended up straight through the Bath leaving a nice crack and a hole. They called me up to replace a Bath so let’s put you down and let’s get Plumbing. Because the bar feeds aren’t isolable the first thing to do is to cut the pipework and fits and valves. This makes it nice and easy in the future to be able to work on the system and also when we lift Bath we obviously need it free away from any of the pipework. But some new valves are installed and the waste has been cut out the way and the trap has been removed. We can cut the silicon or run the sides lower the legs as low as possible or even take them completely off and then that should allow the Bath to drop once it’s dropped on one side we’re able to lift it up and just clear the tiles. Unfortunately, the tiles on the end popped off, but they were only held on by a small bit of adhesive stuck onto some wood. After cleaning all the access silicon I can prep the new Bath with the legs without the feet this will allow me to slide it just like how we took the Bath out and put the feet on after once it’s in place to lift it to the required height. I left it just shy of the tiles so we can get some adhesive and sealant in between first. This would be our first seal and our second seal will be done after once the bath has been adjusted to the right height and the gap has been removed between the tiles and the Bath as much as possible. I had to put the tiles back on and to do so I just used some xpro stixseal as I’m just dealing with what I got. I gave it a quick grout and then I’m ready for my final silicon seal before we put the taps in. It’s much easier to do this now rather than working around the taps with tiny gaps. the silicon I like to use is from xpro I find it super affordable and very high-quality. It’s really easy to work with it doesn’t smear and using the profile tools. I could move and get a real good angle on my silicon. now that we’re happy with the seal all the way round I can insert the taps. I am putting the old ones back on but I’ve installed a new rubber seals and we’re gonna be making it nice and easy to install so we can replace a later date. I don’t normally put flexible hoses on things, especially if they’re on show but under a Bath where access is super tight it’s just easier and as long as they’re straight then I’m happy. the waste that I’m using is Mcalpine this is a super simple design with a plug and chain in a rented accommodation. It’s much better to remove fail points and I always make my waist in with silicon in the top and using the rubbers underneath. the overflow design on this fsk10 kit is far superior than others as it connecting to the bottom end of the trap rather than pushing over a small spigot like those cheap black plastic ones that you get which are held together with hopes and prayers. I put some wood underneath the bath so we don’t really need to worry about filling the bath up with water for testing as it’s not gonna go anywhere anyway this also makes it super easy for me to install a Bath panel as I’ve got a fixed points on the ends and with a bit of wood on the floor, I can screw everything together. We’ll leave everything to go off and all that’s left is to put a new Bath shower panel over the top so we might even leave that for the next video but if you’d like today’s video, then please give it a like drop comment down below and please as always subscribe if you are new!
