Lismore currently being affected by the 2011 floods Lismore is a small city on the Bruxner Highway, in the beautiful Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. The area is home to 5 World Heritage National Parks. Closest is the Nightcap National Park, just 35km north of Lismore. The area is considered the 'home of eco-tourism' in Australia, and Protestor Falls, in the Nightcaps, was the site of one of Australia's most heated conservation battles in the 1970s.
