"In the Trenches" | a WW1 Diorama

Inspired by the war film *1917*, this project recreates a tense moment behind enemy lines in a World War I trench diorama built inside a shadow box frame. In this video, I paint the British soldiers Schofield and Blake before constructing a detailed German trench complete with weathered wood, sandbags, mud, and battlefield debris. My goal was to capture the atmosphere of the film and the dangerous journey these two soldiers faced as they crossed through abandoned trenches and enemy territory. From terrain building and miniature painting to weathering and final assembly, follow along as this cinematic WWI scene comes to life.
