Commissioning of 333m of the C4 Berth | Port of Toamasina

A major milestone has been reached at the Port of Toamasina. SPAT has officially commissioned the first 333 meters out of the planned 470 meters of the C4 quay—a modern infrastructure designed to support the port’s growth and meet the evolving demands of international maritime trade. With a depth of 16 meters, this new quay can accommodate larger vessels, including Super Post-Panamax container ships, strengthening the Port of Toamasina’s position in the Indian Ocean region. ⚓ This project is fully aligned with the SPAT 2.0 vision: ✔️ Increase port capacity ✔️ Improve operational efficiency ✔️ Attract new operators ✔️ Position Toamasina as a strategic maritime hub 🚧 In the near future, the C4 quay will be equipped with state-of-the-art Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes, significantly boosting container handling capacity. 👉 A concrete step forward for Madagascar’s economic development. 📍 Port of Toamasina – Madagascar 📅 Official commissioning: March 21, 2026
