Judge Fernández Seijo, who initiated the battle against the banks by questioning Europe about the legality of mortgage floor clauses, subsequently triggering a flood of lawsuits against them, continues to consult the European Courts of Justice. Thanks to this approach, in September 2019, the Supreme Court issued its first ruling declaring early repayment clauses in mortgages null and void.
