Britney Spears’ health issues have never fully been explained. As a doctor, I find this shocking considering they were the reason that her rights were taken away. So I spent days trying to unpack this story, figuring out what the truth is about her health conditions so that you can understand how we have ended up in the position we are in. That being said, even though Britney Spears’ health issues were bad, they by no way justified the treatment that she had from both the media and her family. The perceived external threat of people taking advantage of her was the quoted reason for the conservatorship, but what about the internal threat of abuse? What happens when your own family is turning you into a legal slave? This is exactly what happened to Britney Spears.
