Her son Mitchell, just six years old at the time, was there too. Six years later, he had his own face-to-face encounter that launched 21 years of personal investigation. Together, they discuss the evidence they've documented in the field — stick structures, glyphs, and gift exchanges — and the deeply personal cost and reward of a life spent in this research, including the relationships they've lost and the unexpected moments of connection that have kept them going.
