ZX-9R Lora 💞 A Ride To The Forest With A Big Mountain Hike

In this video I try to prove to myself whether I can still do the hobby I love the most after motorcycling and that is climbing mountains, not last weeks wee hill, but a proper big mountain. So I set out and attempted to climb the second biggest mountain in Southern Scotland, its only second by 30 metres and unlike the tallest one, it does no have a tourist path to go up. This is good old deer and sheep tracks to navigate and often the path is non-existent and sketchy with some big drops down sheer faces. To give you an idea of the task I set myself, this mountain has twice the vertical climb needed to reach the summit as the Breithorn has from the cable car on the easier route. If someone was to take the cable car to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and then ascend Breithorn on foot, the vertical ascent is 280 metres, this is over 600 metres of ascent. Another point is that folk can badly underestimate Scottish hills because they're relatively low in elevation. People see "814 m" and think "small hill", whereas in reality they're starting near sea level, not already at an Alpine terrain height, climbing continuously, often in rough, boggy, pathless terrain, with weather that can deteriorate very quickly. That's a genuine hazard and one that catches people out all the time. So I took Lora down the Dumfries road a few miles to the Forrest Estate and set about seeing if I could still do it all, it was the hottest day of the year so far, hovering around 25c and maybe more. I had to walk over Fred Olsen's land on this journey as this is who the estate belongs to.
