While the humor is less robust than that of their peers, the laughs are still plentiful, and the film never leaves us with anything less than a constant smile on our faces. As we've seen before, this type of film can vary in the amount of plot it contains, as opposed to a thin plot that's really just an excuse for gags. Mark "Jitterbugs" is the kind of film that peppers its runtime with regular splashes of wit—physical humor, situational comedy, visual gags, witty dialogue—amidst an unexpectedly substantial plot.
