Rhum J.M is one of the oldest producers of Rhum Agricole on the island of Martinique, which belongs to the Lesser Antilles. The distillery is located at the foot of the Mont - Pelée volcano. The prevailing rugged landscape and lush vegetation create ideal conditions for the cultivation of high quality sugar cane. The sugar cane harvest is then crushed within an hour on the distillery premises and processed into sugar cane juice. After fermentation and distillation, the result is a very aromatic Rhum Agricole. This is followed by a resting phase in stainless steel tanks and then the rum is matured for three years in bourbon barrels that have been burnt out again and for a further year in American oak barrels.
