We opted for a Carnival Shore Excursion and chose the "small group" tour of the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins. We had a great tour guide and were with a small group of 10. We were very happy that we chose to do an excursion further in, because the port was INSANE and very crowded. Afterwards, we got back on the ship and had a very relaxing evening.
