Top 3 things I use in iOS 10's control panel

Have you taken a closer look at iOS 10's Control Center? Here's how I've been using it the last few months. Cases used in this video: 1. Urban Armor Gear Plasma - http://mreh.ca/2e9GJXV 2. X-Doria Defense Lux - http://mreh.ca/2eQnV44 3. Griffin Summit - http://mreh.ca/1L4QAHx 60+ Case Comparison Tool: http://mreh.ca/29Rb2or Help me choose what to review next: http://mreh.ca/1JODph4 Today I’m going to tell you the three things I’ve found the most useful in iOS 10’s control panel. Now before you close this video because you’re thinking that you know everything about the control panel, quickly, what are the 4 shortcuts at the bottom of the first pane of the control panel? There’s flashlight, camera, calculator…and….? I’m quite happy with the updated control panel as it’s a big upgrade from the iOS 9 control panel. Some parts have been around for a while, like the bluetooth, sleep and rotation lock so I’m not going to talk much about that. After I go through the three things I use the most, I’m going to share with you what I’m going to try to start using more in the control center. So let’s get started! 1. The Quick Access menu to the HomeKIt stuff. This might not be applicable to everybody but as we all get suckered into convincing that we need a smart utility to control our water kettle, this little panel is going to get a lot of attention. For me, the most useful place I’ve placed my singular HomeKit device is on my video lights…that need to warm up. 2. I still use the flashlight and calculator a lot. These have been there for a couple of iterations but still incredibly useful. Why? Because picking up Monty turds at 6 in the morning in the dark is just stupid and as i’ve gotten older, my ability to do math in my head has seemingly decreased. With iOS 10 and a force touch compatible iPhone, you get a few more options that aren’t necessarily useful. I don’t use the timer much as I think starting a timer through Siri is way easier. 3. This one applies more to how I use the control panel on the iPad and it deals with the second media center. On the iPhone, I generally only use it for music but on the iPad, being able to quickly resume the last video I was playing is a decent shortcut. I find myself using this shortcut the most in the kitchen when I’m setting up to shovel food into my mouth. As a side note, I love how the newer iPad’s allow you to have a minimized video playing in the background. This makes my time wasting twice as effective as I’m able to play games and watch netflix! So those are the three things I use the most. What do you guys use the most in the control center? I’m a little curious. Now the one thing in iOS 10 that I’m trying to re-learn how to use are all the 3D Touch features on the camera shortcut. I love the right swipe for the camera on the lock screen, but I still look for the camera app while using the device. With the 3D touch features, being able to pick the right video mode will save a couple seconds here and there. So that’s all I got. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe to stay in the loop!
