During rehearsals for "Intrigue and Love" at the Munich Kammerspiele in 1965, Fritz Kortner recounts an anecdote about Gustav Gründgens (Christiane Hörbiger is sitting next to him; Helmut Lohner is on stage). The anecdote refers to Gründgens' 1953 production of Ferdinand Raimund's "The King of the Alps and the Misanthrope," with Kortner in the lead role.
