The Movie That Explained "Evil"
Had it been helmed by Quentin Tarantino, Natural Born Killers would have turned out an entirely different way. The abject romanticization of Mickey and Mallory would have been two-fold, the social criticisms would have been largely ejected, and the crucial role of childhood in creating killers would never have been touched upon. Natural Born Killers is controversial; and yet, so are Tarantino-directed films. So why then is Pulp Fiction accepted filmmaking, and Natural Born Killers isn't? What Oliver Stone did with a Tarantino script was much more dangerous than anything Tarantino has done within the Hollywood system: he brought up childhood.
