HLS in the World | Constitutionalism and Courts: A Transnational Conversation Among Judges

Harvard Law School Professors Vicki Jackson and Mark Tushnet moderated a discussion among justices from high courts around the world about, among other topics, the challenges they face, the ways they interpret their constitutions and similar documents, and the roles of international and comparative law in their work. Participants were Rosalie Abella, justice, Supreme Court of Canada; Manuel Jose Cepeda LL.M. ‘87, president, International Association of Constitutional Law; Dieter Grimm LL.M. ‘65, professor of law, Humboldt University of Berlin; Koenraad Lenaerts LL.M. ‘78, president, Court of Justice of the European Union; and Sandile Ngcobo LL.M. ‘86, former chief justice, Constitutional Court of South Africa.
