Let us denounce him, let us denounce him!'" All my friends are watching for my downfall: "Perhaps he will be deceived, and we will overcome him and take vengeance on him!" But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior; therefore my persecutors will cease and will not prevail. They will be utterly ashamed of their defeat, covered with eternal and unforgettable shame. O Lord of hosts, you who test the righteous and look upon the mind and heart, grant that I may see your vengeance upon them. For I have committed my cause to you. Sing to the Lord, praise the Lord! SECOND READING Romans 5:12-15 Adam is a type of Christ Brothers and sisters: Through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned. For even before the Law, sin was in the world, yet sin is not imputed when there is no Law. Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned by transgression in the likeness of Adam. He is a type of the One who was to come. But the transgression is not as much the case as the gift of grace. For if the transgression of one resulted in death for all, how much more did the grace and the gift of God, by the grace of one Man, Jesus Christ, abound for all. SINGING BEFORE THE GOSPEL Cf.
