How to CHANGE COOLANT in a Boxster 986 (Project 29)
If you want to buy an "I AM THE WARRANTY" shirt OR if this saved you a good deal of time and/or money and want to buy me a coffee or a beer, you can do those things right here: https://ko-fi.com/helpmediy Project 29: from the 101 Projects for your Porsche Boxster book The coolant has never been changed in my 1998 Porsche Boxster 986, so I decided it was time! just over 62,000 miles on her. Did a little research and then created this DIY to try and help you by showing what's involved. I used the Porsche brand coolant just to be safe. I got 2 gallons to mix with 2 gallons of distilled water. Picked them up from Renn Part. https://rennpart.com/product/coolant-1l/ I used this cooling system refill kit and my air compressor to put the new coolant in to prevent air bubbles. https://amzn.to/2U3QC25 I used these hose clamp pliers: https://amzn.to/2t76HsD Here is the QuickJack lift that I use: https://amzn.to/2RY2JuN 101 Projects for your Porsche Boxster book: https://amzn.to/2uZOeyO 986 Service Manual: https://amzn.to/2JPdgVr Hope this helps, and please subscribe! -------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer I am a Do It Yourself, also known as DIY, mechanic.
