At a time when rural Iran faced a severe shortage of physicians and healthcare workers, Dr. Ghorban envisioned a different solution: training local health personnel to serve their own communities. Drawing upon Dr. Ghorban’s memoirs and the recollections of Professor Hossein-Ali Ronaghi, this episode examines the origins of the School of Public Health, its curriculum, faculty, early graduates, and its impact on healthcare delivery throughout rural Iran.
