In a statement to reporters on Wednesday (July 15), Anwar stated that the Malaysian government will not compromise and will deport any Israeli citizens detected entering Malaysia. He emphasized Malaysia's position that it has never recognized Israel. "We are investigating. We don't allow it. If there are any, of course, action must be taken. If there are Israeli citizens, they will be immediately expelled (from Malaysia) because we don't recognize them," Anwar said, as quoted by Bernama. Anwar was speaking about an investigation into allegations that Israeli citizens were detected entering Malaysia with dual citizenship documents. The incident was detected in the state of Johor.
