Trainz 2019 Railfanning S03 E06: CSX, Tramway, Shinkansen, Amtrak, NJ Transit, Large Grade Crossing

In this Trainz Railfanning Video, we'll be looking at a large railroad crossing in the middle of a city. There are two divided highways crossing each other at an intersection. In the center of one divided highway is a two-track mainline that is shared by CSX freight trains and a Tram line. In the center of the other divided highway is a four-track mainline. Two of these tracks are being used by Amtrak and NJ Transit, while the other two are being used by the Shinkansen. All these lines cross each other with eight diamond crossovers. The 4-track line used to be two tracks, but the city widened the entire street to make room for the experimental Shinkansen line. The Shinkansen line is protected by two cantilevers and 16 gates. Additional lights flash when a Shinkansen approaches. The CSX / Tramway is protected by eight flashers. The city programmed the traffic lights to disallow left and right turns when the crossing is activated, but since Amtrak, NJ Transit and Shinkansen were given the right-of-way over CSX and the Tramway, that road gets a green light. We'll look at this railroad crossing from several camera angles, all of which are provided by security cameras at the intersection. We'll even look at it from inside a tram, freight train, NJ Transit train, high-speed train, and even from above in a helicopter!
