THANATOS - THE GREEK GOD OF DEATH - GREEK MYTHOLOGY

In the depths of the Greek underworld, where shadows dance and the sighs of the dead echo, resides a being feared by all: Thanatos, the God of Death. For centuries, legends and myths have surrounded this enigmatic god, whose cold touch and piercing gaze bring the inevitability of the end. But who is the true Thanatos? How did he ascend to his place on Olympus, and how does he bear the burden of guiding souls to the beyond? Thanatos was born of Night and is the brother of the god of sleep, Hypnos. Thanatos is depicted as a winged youth or a winged skeleton, holding a torch or sword. His function is to ferry the souls of the dead to the underworld. What's interesting is that Thanatos treats all the dead in the same manner, without making distinctions. He is relentless and unavoidable, confronting all of us at some point. ▬▬▬▬ Explore more of the world of mythology ▬▬▬▬ The H. P.
