Map Projections Part 1: General Information & Cylindrical Projections
This presentation gives an introduction to map projections. It discusses the general properties of map projections, aspects of mapping accuracy, and the different projection types. It reviews some cylindrical projections and their role in coordinate systems commonly used in the US. The presentation was created as part of a peer-reviewed educational series of Reusable Learning Objects (RLOs) on Map Projections.
