ADCET Webinar: What We're Learning - Empowering Disability Services in Australian Higher Education
Darlene McLennan provided an update on her ACSES Equity Fellowship examining disability support in Australian universities. This webinar shared early findings from national surveys, interviews with practitioners and students with disability, and sector consultations. It explored what disability support looks like across institutions, practitioner experiences and capacity, and what students say matters most. It discussed emerging themes around workload, professional development, the gap between policy and practice, and what drives meaningful change. While the research is ongoing, these preliminary insights offered important perspectives on supporting both practitioners and students with disability in higher education. (March 2026)
