“The Road to Ensenada” Lyle Lovett on Martin D-42

Well I love Lyle and I especially love this song for lots of reasons, most not because as a youngster we would escape down to Baja to surf and camp on cliffs at K-38 and K-55. Big fires at night and wed roll potatoes in foil and leave them in the ashes over night. In the morning, the tortilla lady would walk through and we’d buy fresh warm flour tortillas to wrap our mostly cooked potatoes in, whoof them down and then surf all morning. Good days, indeed. So the road to Ensenada is plenty wide and fast. Also, at Jasper’s suggestion, I tried again a thumb pick, a National Medium. I bought quite a few to try out and this is the most comfy. As per usual this is recorded straight into my phone. About as real as it gets, for better or worse. If you enjoy the tune and the channel, give it a thumbs up, consider subscribing and I always welcome a cup of coffee tip. Venmo is @scalatrello #martinguitars #lylelovett #martind42 #frontporchsongs
