Use of Zinc in wheat crop and application details || Crop Reformer

Zinc has become very important micronutrient element in wheat growth and production. It performs its character in making better use of all macronutrients present in soil or artificially added as crop supplements for normal growth and more production. Different 27% formulations of Zinc sulphate are commonly broadcasted @ 3 kg/acre along with nitrogenous fertilizer at the time of 1st irrigation in wheat. Only 5 % or less amount of zinc sulphate becomes available to the crop. In this video, we have recommended the use of chelated zinc (Liberal zinc–Engro or Headland zinc 15%-Swat agro) for its better usage than zinc sulphate. It has been stressed that either of the Liberal zinc –Engro or Headland zinc 15%-Swat agro may be flooded @ 500 gram at the time of 1st irrigation or sprayed @ 250 gram/acre along with herbicides after the 1st irrigation. These small nutrients play a crucial role and have a status of important player in getting higher yield of wheat crop. It is essential for activation of the process of making amino acids and other vital components that are formed from different added fertilizers like dap fertilizer (diammonium phosphate, diammonium phosphate fertilizer, urea and diammonium phosphate) and SOP (sulphate of potash, potassium sulfate fertilizer, potassium sulphate fertilizer, sulphate of potash fertilizer) etc. Zinc is frequently found in most of our soils but its availability is badly hampered due to ill health of more than 70% of our soils. Those soils in which aeration problem has been aggravated due to misuse of unfit tube well water and cultural practices, are more prone to zinc deficiency throughout Punjab. There is not any problem of zinc availability in the well aerated, healthy soils located near by the irrigation canals and river beds. Wheat yield is positively correlated with the supplementary use of zinc products. In this video, we have highlighted the need of zinc application not only for wheat crop but also important for normal health of our people. Hundreds of companies are marketing their zinc products like Nia Zinc Syngenta, Select- Evyol group,Headland Zinc Swat Agro, Liberal Zinc Engro and so many. In this video, we have advocated the use of Zabardast Urea (Engro) as better source as combined formulation with nitrogen and Stock saver of PK Niazi (0300-6680802) as better source of zinc with most other micronutrients. Different nutrients are required for proper growth and development of wheat crop. These nutrients are required at different stages of life cycle of wheat crop according to its needs. These nutrients include phosphorus, potassium, nitrogen in large amounts and boron, zinc, magnesium and iron in trace or small quantities. These nutrients not only increase the production of crop but also improve the quality of the products made with it. Quality of products is becoming more and more important because health of people is becoming major and prime concern of the world health organizations. So, we should also focus on quality improvement of our crops along with the quantity of the products. We should try to increase the organic matter of our soils so that major amounts of nutrients may become available through natural processes and we do not need to add supplements to fulfil the needs of plants. #wheat #zinc #cropreformer
