I Fixed an NES That Only Played in Black & White ! Fix it Friday

I bought this Nintendo Entertainment System from eBay after it was listed as faulty with an unusual video problem. At first it sounded like a fairly common fault, but once I started testing it the behaviour became much stranger than I expected. In this video I strip the console down, investigate the possible causes, test the clock circuitry, replace the ageing electrolytic capacitors and try to track down exactly what's causing the issue. Along the way I also take a look at an affordable oscilloscope and multimeter that's ideal for electronics repairs.
