16 Days of Wavy Atlantic Ocean Crossing -Part 2 - Episode 9

There is a time, between “the 500-1000 nautical miles to go”, where, we were thinking “what the heck? We should be crazy to do this…”. Waves are big, the boat is rolling, making it really difficult to do anything on the boat. Cooking becomes a challenge between veggies rolling around as you are cutting them, the stove swiveling like nuts and trying to manage hot water on the stove without getting burned. If you have some fresh water, is like “holding on to dear life”. It is challenging. The constant rocking gets to us at some point… But we are doing something that very few people in the world are privileged to do. Sure, it is tough, it is hard, and we are counting down the miles…. But hey, look at this ocean, look at these stars, look at this sunset/sunrise, moon set/moonrise, look at Venus, look at the ISS flying over (the closest human beings to us, in the mid-Atlantic, ain't that totally nuts?)… Look at all of it, and enjoy the suffering. As for many of us, this moment, right here, right now, will not come back Unless you are nuts like some of us and do this transatlantic repeatedly. So… hold on. There is a piña colada waiting for you at the other side!!! Thanks for watching!
