Think of successful or outstanding people? Now, compare how many are men and how many are women? It was through such a comparison that Camila Haeckel decided to embark on a project to highlight women who have made and continue to make a difference in the state of Pernambuco. Camila shares her main lessons learned from interviewing over 100 women from the region. Born in Recife and educated in New York, where she lived with her parents for two years during her childhood. She began her entrepreneurial journey early on. Inspired by her mother, who owned a clothing manufacturing business, she started her first business. After the birth of her first daughter, Camila felt the need to do something related to sustainability and social responsibility. In 2005, she founded Mar & Arte, a beautiful, ecologically sound, and socially just project that earned her the Sebrae Top 100 award. With two degrees, Retail Management and Administration, and an MBA in Business Management, she specialized in Investment Portfolio Management and built a career in large multinational banks. Unafraid of change, in 2017 the businesswoman, mother of Beatriz and Marina, decided it was time to reinvent herself and ventured into the field of communication, producing a book born from her desire to learn about and share the stories of strong women who, with determination and feminine grace, achieved success in their respective fields.
