CX500 Scrambler Build - Moving The Fuel Tank - EP9

The CX500 Scrambler build continues with moving the fuel tank to clear the FT500 forks I swapped on in a previous video. The tank is a regular Custom model from an earlier bike that has a lovely patina to it! On the bike I fabricated new front mounts using a 1 1/4" hole saw to replicate the originals. Those are tapped as an M8 and welded back on the frame in the new desired position. I did slightly trim the tank seam where it is close to the triple to add a tiny bit more space. In back I cut off the original mounts from both the tank and frame and made all new pieces. Please understand this is EXTREMELY dangerous to grind/weld on a fuel tank. Use your brain here and take caution or leave it to a pro. I could have made it work by not cutting on the tank but I always go the extra mile to make things to my standards but realize you don't need to do this. I did mention my friend Jonathan who supplied some custom tig torch back caps in the video and you can contact him via Instagram   / thewatson77   I also picked up some Furick products from: https://furickcup.com/ If you haven't seen the previous episodes and need to get caught up here are a couple: Last EP:    • CX500 Electric Fan Conversion With R1 Fan!...   Fork Swap:    • CX500 Scrambler - Fork Swap And Rear Shock...   If you found this video helpful or simply wish to support the channel further feel free to donate to the "Tip Jar" via the paypal link below!
