GAIA
What if the Earth is alive? What if it's a superorganism that regulates its conditions through its internal processes? What if we are those processes? Seeing it as a sterile rock we inhabit would be like treating our bones as calcium structures around which we live. Before you come preaching to me with the word of the Lord, the puppets that appear at the end aren't real; they're hyperreal, they're metaphors. The process of complexity emergence allows us to observe metaphysics from a more manageable perspective, not as an external force that interferes with our earthly lives, but as an emergent property of the complex processes that already exist in this reality. It's science, then. And if you don't believe me, check the sources in the first pinned comment.
