Suite Hellenique - Lorenzo Simoni's pocket sax orchestra

Suite Hellenique originally composed by Pedro Iturralde in 1996 for piano and saxophone. It the beginning it was named "Helenismo" as it is a suite characterized by Greek and mediterranean influenced melodies. The suite alternates between greek dances and occidental styles of music all of them linked by a modal construction which the melody is based on. It is nowadays one of the most recognizable compositions for "classical" saxophone, very often executed in different contexts and with different combos. I Kalamatianos 0:00 II Funky 0:51 III.
