How To FT8 w/ FT-991A (My Way)

I will also be working FT8 during the live video, so hop on your radio with me. FT8 is very popular right now, with a lot of stations using it. It's not the most exciting way to use your Ham Radio, but it's very interesting to see how far your signal gets out. It will also allow you to achieve awards like WAS (work all states) and DXCC while doing other things in the shack! What You Need A radio with a sound card such as a FT-991A or IC-7300. A USB port can be a good indication. Alternate option is to use a Tigertronics SignalLInk $140 https://www.dxengineering.com/search/... A computer: Windows, Linux or Mac. Is more fun with 2 monitors. In my experience this is easier on a Windows machine I think this could be a good application for Raspberry Pi Sound drivers for your radio. If on Windows just go to manufacture website. Fun Map Software: GridTracker https://gridtracker.org/ Logging Software: Log4OM https://www.log4om.com/ Set Up Configure the radio. Configure your computers sound options. Configure WSJT-X settings. Test CAT and PTT. Look for RF power on power meter. Touch up tuning with Tune button. Configure UDP-User Datagram Protocol on all software. Start making contacts and verify your log is catching them. Tell everyone on your local repeater how cool you are, making all these DX contacts!
